Perfect Practice's US RainDrop listing and Australia product catalog were checked October 16, 2026. The US product page describes a retractable cable close to 20 feet; the AU catalog lists the same named item at AU$109.95. Kit equivalence and Australian stock were not confirmed.
Quick answer
The Perfect Practice RainDrop is a retractable putting string intended to give you a visible reference for the start line of straight or breaking putts. It is a small setup aid, not a putting mat. The manufacturer’s US product page describes a cable close to 20 feet, while the Australian catalog listed the RainDrop at AU$109.95 on October 16, 2026. Confirm the exact Australian kit, current stock and full delivered price before ordering.
What the string is for
Set a line where you can use it to compare the putter path or starting direction on a chosen putt. Perfect Practice describes it for straight and breaking putts and says it stores in a golf bag. That tells a buyer the intended training task; it does not show a measured change in alignment, make rate or score.
The main trade-off is setup. You need a suitable indoor or practice-green place to anchor and align the line, and enough space to make the stroke you want to work on. A mat provides a continuous roll surface; a string is more portable and serves a narrower visual-reference job.
Check the Australian listing
The Australia product catalog lists the RainDrop under the same name and at AU$109.95, but the detailed near-20-foot specification is on Perfect Practice’s US listing. Before ordering from Australia, check the item page for the precise kit contents, product variant, availability and delivery terms rather than assuming a US pack description is identical.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Perfect Practice RainDrop do?
The manufacturer describes a retractable putting string for checking start line on straight or breaking putts. That is the product's intended use, not a GolfTested result.
How long is the RainDrop string?
Perfect Practice's US product page says the retractable cable is close to 20 feet. Confirm the exact specification and included parts on the Australian listing before ordering.
Is the RainDrop the same as a putting mat?
No. The string is a line reference that you set up for a practice putt. A mat gives a continuous surface and may include a return track or target holes. Choose the tool that addresses the practice setup you actually use.
How much does the RainDrop cost in Australia?
The Australian catalog showed AU$109.95 on October 16, 2026. Confirm the current product selection, stock and delivered price in the Australian store.
Will it improve my putting?
A training aid can give you a reference while practicing, but the listing does not establish how a golfer's scores will change. This page does not claim a measured improvement.
