Goodstick's magnetic alignment-stick product page and shop were checked October 16, 2026. Dimensions, caps and length recommendations are manufacturer listings; no durability or swing-training test was conducted.
Quick answer
Choose 39 inches for a junior bag, 42 inches if a shorter profile is the priority, 45 inches for a general-purpose pair in a stand bag, or 48 inches if your cart or tour bag can store the extra length or a drill needs the additional reach. These are Goodstick’s own size recommendations, not a test of which length improves a practice result.
Match length to bag and drill
| Length | Goodstick’s stated fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 39 in | Junior bag | Confirm the stick still reaches the ground or visual target for the drill. |
| 42 in | Compact profile and stand bags | Check that the stick can be carried with the stand legs and rain hood. |
| 45 in | Standard recommendation for stand bags and all drills | Check the bag divider/pocket and whether the extra reach is useful for your setup. |
| 48 in | Tour and cart bags, or drills needing extra length | Measure the storage sleeve and transport space before choosing. |
The sticks are listed as a pair of fiberglass rods, 5/16 inch in diameter, with pointed ends, magnetic tips and five-inch protective caps. Those details help identify the item, but they do not establish a tested lifespan or guarantee that the magnets will prevent movement in every bag.
Plan around compatible accessories
Goodstick’s Total Station accepts standard 5/16-inch alignment sticks but is guaranteed to fit only Goodstick-brand sticks. If you already own another brand, check the diameter and instructions before building a setup around it. The Total Station guide also covers its strong magnet and limited-speed use warning.
